Emily received degrees in Journalism and Political Science from the University of Kentucky and spent a year working as a reporter in Saranac Lake, NY. She has been traveling and writing about it since she was 11 and first went with her family to the Yucatan peninsula for a month in 1997.

She has tried her hardest to live as stimulating a life as possible and for her nothing is more fascinating, challenging and rewarding than traveling and experiencing all the world has to offer. And given her career history (or lack of one), a tight budget is requisite. But Emily just sees this challenge as another opportunity to succeed.

She spent from September 2010 through September 2011 living and teaching English in the Catalonia region of Spain, just outside Barcelona. Throughout this time Emily wrote about it, mostly featuring her disgustingly easy and gluttonous lifestyle instead of her job, at http://www.emilyhunkler.com.
