lanquin // semuc champey

It might be a treacherous road to travel (and a budget buster), but having the opportunity to see the amazing nature of Semuc Champey should definitely be on your to do list. (Click here for photos) Hiking, swimming, jumping, relaxing and exploring this place is the closest thing to paradise I could imagine.

There are some lodges to stay at closer to the park entrance, but staying in the town of Lanquin seems to be the most economical. It isn’t much of a town, but having the option and competition of other restaurants and a mercado in town is always good for your wallet.

Be warned there is no ATM in Lanquin so come prepared with cash.
