Getting and Going Lago de Yojoa

Getting and going Lago de Yojoa

San Pedro Sula >> Lago de Yojoa

Getting to Lago de Yojoa from the massive San Pedro Sula bus terminal is not only simple but cheap! You just have to follow the signs, or ask direction, to the urban/interurban bus lines and find the bus going to El Mochito — but you’ll only be going to Los Naranjos. For about $2usd/40 lemps you’ll get there in about 2 hours.

There is not a lot going on in the town, but if you plan on staying at D&D Brewery, tell the driver and they will drop you at the access road. D&D is no more than a 5 minute walk from there.

If you intend on staying at The Hideaway you’ll get off the bus in Peña Blanca (before Los Naranjos) and grab a colectivo toward the archaeological park and get off at “dos pinos” to walk up the short drive to the bed and breakfast.

Lago de Yojoa >> Copan Ruins

The easiest and fastest way to get to Copan Ruinas from Lago de Yojoa is to go back through San Pedro Sula. This seems to be true of a lot of Honduran destinations.  You can catch the bus to San Pedro Sula on the main street in Los Naranjos about every half hour and it will cost you about $2usd/40 lemps. From San Pedro Sula just ask for Copan Ruinas and you’ll get directed to the Casasola bus line. This trip takes about 3-4 hours and will cost $6.50usd/ 125 lemps.
