Isla Carenero is a two minute water taxi trip from Isla Colon — short enough to make it easy to hop on over, but far enough that you aren’t bothered by the hustle and bustle of Calle 3ª once the island wakes up.
Gran Kahuna Beach Hostel
Located just beyond the (temporarily closed) Aqua Lounge from where the water taxi will drop you off, Gran Kahuna Beach Hostel is clean, colorful, and pretty cheap. There is a restaurant that serves up full plates of rice, beans, salad and whatever has come in off the boats that day for a tramper-friendly $5USD. There is a kitchen, wifi and plenty of hammocks.
