There are plenty of places to stay on Isla Colon, some more expensive than others. The following hostels are on budget and provide all of the things a tramper looks for in a place to sleep.
Mondo Taitu
Located near the far end of the main drag, Mondo Taitu is one of the rowdier hostels of Bocas Town. A visit to the in-hostel bar is a must for most travelers heading through the archipelago ($0.75 beers at happy hour!). Not to mention you’re sure to have a little extra cash if you’re crashing in the dorms and taking advantage of the free breakfast (though you’ll have to fry up those pancakes yourself). There is wifi, a kitchen for guest use, free drinking water and a couple of bikes and skateboards available to cruise around town. Unfortunately, if you want to check out some pictures, you’ll have to check out their website — one of our trampers encountered technical difficulties and lost her pictures (oops!)

It has a fun vibe, a killer book selection and is a great place to spend a couple of days on Isla Colon. There is a kitchen and wifi, along with four computers for general use. The hostel provides drinking water, and there are small lockboxes for each bed.

Coconut Hostel
The important thing to remember about this hostel is to check out more than one room and bargain hard. Especially if you’re planning on staying on Isla Colon for a number of days, Coconut Hostel can be very affordable. They offer dorm accommodations, private rooms, and rooftop camping (if that’s what you’re in to). There is a communal kitchen, wifi, lockboxes and a couple of laptops in reception that can be lent out for guest use.
