Boquete is home to quite a few hostels, all of them in the $11USD range. The following are a couple that we found particularly noteworthy.
Hostal Refugio del Rio
Refugio del Rio is the Border Tramp pick for sleeping in Boquete. Located alongside a small creek, Refugio del Rio boasts luxury accommodations at tramper prices (a hot tub! an herb garden!). Although it may seem a little high-brow at first glance, a bed in the dorm runs $11USD and private rooms start at $13.75USD per person. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and quick to respond to any problems that may occur. The energetic owner, Luchini, is an excellent source of information on the surrounding area and knows his way around a grill — his weekly barbecues are not to be missed. The hostel is equipped with wifi, four computers for general use, one of the most well-stocked kitchens we’ve come across in our travels, and plenty of space for lounging around after a hard days adventuring.

Hostal Gaia
Hostal Gaia is a fairly new hostel located near the center of town. It is clean, quiet, and runs only $11USD a night in spacious four-bed dormitories. However, Hostal Gaia’s primary claim to fame is the orthopedic mattresses — you cannot underestimate the power of a great nights sleep after a long trek up Volcan Barú or a demanding day of white water rafting. The hostal is equipped with wifi, a kitchen for guest use and cable TV.
