El Tunco — the epitome of a laid-back surfer town. It’s a small village with bars and restaurants sprouting up in between the plethora of surf shops and hostels here. The prices of beds in this town are right on budget, and the food and beer available can keep you coasting steady for a few days. Surfing is a bit of a splurge at $20usd for a day rental, but you can just chill on the beach either way. We found that surfing is a great spectator’s sport, as well.
