Valladolid serves for most as a layover in on the way to or from Merida, or a place to sleep after visiting the popular Chichen Itza ruins; but this bustling little city could hold your interest for a couple of days if you’ve got the time to spare. It’s a clean and friendly place, with a nice zocalo to relax in with the local university kids. There are plenty of affordable food options, too.
Known for its leather, it’s a good place to buy sandals, boots, bags, belts or any other leather goods you might be in the market for. And remember, you can bargain and get a decent price on almost anything.
It’s a perfect spot to catch up on your rest, but it’s certainly worth doing some exploring too.
