Sol y Mar Bed & Breakfast

Of all the hostels in Las Peñitas , this truly was the best deal. A single costs $10, double $20 and three people is $25 including a daily breakfast (bed AND breakfast, duh!).

If you ask nicely, they’ll let you use the fridge to keep beer cold and maybe even some kitchen utensils, as we did to make ceviche one afternoon. Wi-fi is available here at a cost of $2usd per day.

There is a perfectly enjoyable porch and sun deck on the beach out back, wonderful for reading, suntanning, and relaxing during a beautiful sunset.

The rooms are clean with private bathrooms, fans and fresh towels. With the beach just outside the back door, Sol y Mar makes for the perfect weekend to read a book and enjoy the ocean in this lazy beach town.
