Arriving in San Juan del Sur it’s hard not to notice the disproportionate ratio of locals to surfers/travelers. Some might be turned off by the inauthentic “local” feel here, but it can also make for a great change of pace.
There are loads of young folks living here from the states or Canada or elsewhere and the shopping and eating in this town reflects that — pizza, gourmet burgers, doner kebabs, etc.
The town is small and manageable, the beach is small yet clean and if you’re a girl you can find a ladies night any night of the week — free drinks are always a budget friendly attribute to any town!
Aside from the strong party emphasis in this town, the cliffs and beaches and natural beauty here is worth appreciation as well.
