La Sombra
La Sombra is a great hostel that has everything you need for a couple nights in this little surfer’s retreat. Dorm beds cost $6usd, and private rooms with a bathroom go $16 for a double and $21 for a triple. Hard to beat the prices.
There is wi-fi, a kitchen, television and plenty of hammocks for chilling at La Sombra.
Tunco Lodge
Tunco Lodge is the Border Tramp pick in El Tunco. It’s a couple bucks more than La Sombra, but for the extra cost you get a swimming pool and free laundry service – amenities don’t get much better than that.
Dorm beds run at $8 a night and a private will cost you $10 a person — $20 for a double, $30 for a triple with private bathrooms.
Tunco Lodge offers a full guest kitchen, wi-fi, outdoor lounge area with movies and hammocks and you can rent surf boards through the lodge as well.
